We are a Virginia SCC Corporation and DPOR certified Class A Contractor, No Our company employs over 180 individuals including contractors with various skill levels and certifications, a corporate team comprised of an accounting department, human resources, purchasing, dispatching, estimating, project management, safety, and support staff. Our office is located two miles from Old Town Alexandria, just off I495 at Telegraph Rd. and quick access to I395 via Duke Street (Landmark).

Sagres Construction Corporation established itself as a reliable source for road, highway, bridge, and underground utility construction services throughout D.C., Maryland and Northern Virginia. Some of Sagres' clients include: Federal Highway Administration (FHWA), National Park Service (NPS), U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), Virginia DOT (VDOT), Maryland State Highway Administration (MD SHA), Fairfax County, Montgomery County, Prince George's County, City of Alexandria, VA, Arlington County, VA, DC Water, Washington Suburban Sanitary Commission (WSSC) and other municipalities.

Overview:

Sagres Construction, Corporation is seeking a competent Civil, Heavy/Highway and Utility Construction Project Manager to augment current management team. Typical projects range between $1M and $20M and consist of water, storm sewer, sanitary sewer, road and bridge construction. The Project Manager will be responsible for all routine project administration, coordination, scheduling and on-site construction engineering activities.

Responsibilities:

The Project Manager will be responsible for the overall project administration, coordination, scheduling and on-site construction activities

Overall responsibility for safety, quality, and budget for projects

Prepare submittals, subcontracts and CPM schedules

Track project progress with updated schedules and as-built drawings

Track quantities of completed work and prepare all project billings

Attend job progress meetings

Coordinate work with subcontractors and suppliers

Create change order estimates and deliver proposals to clients

Manage project documentation

Review drawings and identify potential issues

Prepare RFI's and suggest solutions

Be able to clarify drawings and specifications for field personnel

Develop relationships with prospective, current, and past clients

Work closely with field supervisors and communicate effectively with management on a daily basis

Conducts special project assignments as needed for stakeholders.

Required Skills

BS. in Civil Engineering or Construction Management

MUST have 7 years of heavy/civil construction project management experience, at least 5 years experience in the US

VDOT experience is perfered

Familiar with water and sewer, paving, bridge construction, stream restoration, retaining walls, sound walls and all other highway construction

Project and/or customer experience with federal, state, local governments

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Blueprint reading proficiency

Strong analytical, prioritization and organizational skills; detail-oriented

Proficient using scheduling and reporting software tools like Primavera P6 and Microsoft Project

Basic CAD skills and strong working knowledge computers and software programs

Position Highlights:
